Sparkle, a leading global operator and Italy’s premier international service provider, is collaborating with Telespazio, a world-class satellite solutions company jointly owned by Leonardo and Thales. Their joint effort focuses on enhancing the infrastructure at the Fucino site, a facility with a storied history dating back to 1963. Renowned as the world’s first and most significant civil teleport, the centre specializes in satellite orbit control, telecommunications, and multimedia broadcasting, all of which demand exceptionally reliable and high-performance network links.
The expansion of Sparkle’s point of presence is a strategic move that guarantees over 400 Gbps of connectivity capacity. This enhanced infrastructure provides the necessary scalability and robustness for Telespazio to advance its service offerings. The upgraded capabilities will support a diverse range of applications, including government projects, industrial operations, and media services, by integrating sophisticated satellite systems with advanced terrestrial networks.
