The second edition of the Best of Entrepreneurship Series in Asia (BOE Asia 2025) successfully concluded on September 24, 2025, at the Karachi Expo Centre. The event, organized by the ICCD, ran alongside the 26th ITCN Asia conference, forming a significant gathering focused on advancing the region’s tech and entrepreneurial sectors. This year’s forum specifically aimed to bridge the digital accessibility and innovation gaps within Pakistan, ensuring the nation can more fully participate in the global digital economy.

The conference served as a dynamic platform, uniting leading policymakers, established business leaders, and pioneering innovators from across the Asia-Pacific and Central Asian regions. Central to the discussions was the powerful role of technology as a driver for economic revival and sustainable growth. Through a series of panel discussions and interactive workshops, participants exchanged actionable strategies for leveraging technological advancements to fuel entrepreneurial ventures.

In his opening address, ICCD’s Secretary General, Mr. Yousef Khalawi, emphasized the immense potential he sees in Pakistan. He stated that the event’s goal is to bring together the region’s top minds to strengthen the entrepreneurial environment. “By prioritizing access to technology, whether hardware, software, or essential educational tools, for our youth, we are paving the way toward a brighter future for all of humanity,” Khalawi remarked.

Echoing this sentiment, H.E. Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the critical need to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. He advocated for methods that transform students and professionals into innovative leaders who understand the vital importance of entrepreneurship in today’s world.

The demographic advantage of Pakistan was a key point of discussion. H.E. Muhammad Atif Hanif, CEO of Al Baraka Bank Pakistan, noted that the country’s population of 250 million, with 60% under the age of 30, presents a substantial opportunity. He pointed out that this young population is a valuable asset for startups aiming to address market gaps, particularly in technology, and positions Pakistan for significant regional collaboration and growth.

A major announcement at the event was the introduction of the Saleh Kamel for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development Organization (SKSEED). This new ICCD initiative is designed to empower Muslim entrepreneurs, providing them with the resources needed to innovate, scale their businesses, and become leaders in fostering sustainable global economic growth.

As a cornerstone of the broader Best of Entrepreneurship Series, BOE Asia continues to act as a regional beacon for innovation. The series underscores ICCD’s deep commitment to fostering sustainable development across its member states by connecting visionary leaders with the next generation of entrepreneurs to drive inclusive and transformative economic progress.
