Ford has introduced a new STX appearance package for the F-150 Lightning, replacing the XLT trim in a strategic move to reinvigorate interest in the electric truck. This decision comes as sales for the Lightning have dipped by nearly 10 percent compared to last year, prompting the automaker to respond directly to customer demand for a more rugged and capable electric pickup.

The STX trim features a dual-motor setup paired with an extended-range battery, delivering an EPA-estimated 290 miles of range. Performance remains a strong suit, with the model producing 536 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque. A standard rear e-locking differential enhances traction, making it well-suited for both on-road driving and more demanding conditions.

Drawing from the broader F-150 parts catalog, Ford has equipped the Lightning STX with a host of rugged accessories. These include off-road running boards borrowed from the F-150 Tremor, along with new wheels and all-terrain tires specifically designed for the electric variant. Exterior updates feature a fresh grille design, blue accent lines, and prominent STX badging.

For buyers who plan to use their truck for work or outdoor adventures, an optional black vinyl floor lining offers added durability and protection. The STX will be available in the standard array of paint colors, plus two new shades: Argon Blue and Marsh Gray.

According to Will Marchand, product and consumer marketing manager for the Lightning, the STX was developed in direct response to customer feedback. “Until now,” Marchand noted, “owners looking for a rugged F-150 Lightning had to rely on aftermarket modifications. With the STX, we’re delivering exactly what they asked for.”

Scheduled to arrive at dealerships in early 2026, the F-150 Lightning STX will carry a starting price of $63,345. Ford anticipates strong sales based on internal projections, positioning the new trim as a compelling option within the expanding electric truck market.
