More than ten years after the groundbreaking success of “The Social Network,” whispers of a sequel are gaining momentum, with director Aaron Sorkin reportedly eyeing two major talents for leading roles. While the original film chronicled the controversial origins of Facebook, this follow-up is said to draw heavily from investigative journalist Jeff Horwitz’s explosive book “The Facebook Files,” which detailed the platform’s damaging influence on teenage mental health and its part in amplifying dangerous misinformation.

Sources indicate that Jeremy Allen White, celebrated for his role in the hit series “The Bear,” is in talks to portray Horwitz. Meanwhile, Mikey Madison, who recently earned an Oscar for her performance in “Anora,” is being considered for the part of Frances Haugen, the former Facebook product manager who became a whistleblower and provided critical evidence for the reports.

Though Sorkin has reportedly met with both actors to discuss the project, it’s essential to understand that the film remains in early development. No official green light has been given by Sony Pictures at this stage, meaning casting and production details could still shift significantly before anything is finalized.
