The highly anticipated Gran Turismo 7 Spec III update is now live worldwide, delivering a substantial package of new content and features. This major release introduces the game’s first paid expansion, fresh circuits, a collection of new vehicles, and significant gameplay enhancements. Following a ten-week wait since its initial announcement, players can now dive into the largest update for the title in recent memory.
For those who missed the preload opportunity, the download size is notable. PlayStation 4 users face a roughly 9GB update, while the PlayStation 5 version comes in at just over 15GB. This size discrepancy hints at the exclusive content available for the newer console.
While the broad strokes of the Spec III update were outlined previously, the full patch notes reveal all the crucial details. The headline addition is the PlayStation 5-exclusive Power Pack DLC, a paid expansion that accounts for a significant portion of the update’s file size. This pack introduces 50 new races featuring the latest evolution of the Sophy AI, dubbed Sophy 3.0. These events are substantial, structured like 17 new GT Cafe Menu Books and include endurance races that can last up to 24 hours in real time. Players can choose from pre-tuned cars representing different difficulty levels, with corresponding credit rewards. The DLC features six thematic paths to unlock and awards six unique, pre-tuned reward cars. Accessible via a new icon on the World Map, the Power Pack is priced at $29.99.
The update also expands the game’s track roster with two brand-new circuits: Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Canada and Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Each location receives a Circuit Experience event, offering substantial credit rewards for mastering them in specific cars like the Mercedes-AMG GT3 ’20 and the new Ferrari 296 GT3. A surprising bonus is the addition of a reverse layout for the Nurburgring Endurance track, available in Time Trial mode. An Eiger Nordwand Reverse Circuit Experience has also been added.
Eight new cars join the garage in this update, with prices and locations now confirmed:
- Ferrari 296 GT3 ’22 – Brand Central – 1,200,000cr
- Ferrari 296 GTB ’22 – Brand Central – 500,000cr
- FIAT Panda 30 CL ’85 – Used Cars – 14,000cr

Furthermore, the six prize cars from the Power Pack DLC can also be purchased in the base game after unlocking them, available in multiple liveries.
Seven new events have been added to existing series, many showcasing the new cars and circuits, with credit payouts ranging from 50,000 to 300,000. Four new Extra Menu Books task players with collecting specific sets of cars, rewarding them with high-value Roulette Tickets. A new, time-limited Seasonal Menu in the Cafe requires ownership of three recently added cars for a Six-Star Roulette Ticket.
A major new feature is the Data Logger, allowing for detailed telemetry comparison between any two laps on a circuit in single-player events. Online Lobby mode receives quality-of-life upgrades, including new race settings, filters, and a Room ID system for private events. The World Map and World Circuits screens have been refined for easier navigation of Weekly Challenges.
This update brings the largest injection of new engine swaps yet, with 20 vehicles receiving 22 new options. Highlights include the ability to swap engines between the F3500-A and F3500-B, including the V10 from the Espace F1. Six cars, including several Chevrolets and the Lamborghini Urus, can now be fitted with the Bugatti Chiron’s W16 engine. Other notable swaps include the Mine’s BNR34 engine going into older GT-R models and motorcycle power for kei cars.
Additional changes include four new Scapes curations with 50 locations, the official in-game introduction of Dunlop as the tire partner, and long-awaited support for Fanatec’s FullForce feedback feature on compatible steering wheels. Various car-specific adjustments and a new intro video highlighting content since Spec II round out the update. As with all patches, the community is encouraged to share any undocumented changes discovered.
