Unity has released its third-quarter financial results for the 2025 fiscal year, revealing a steady revenue increase driven by its core business divisions. The company reported total revenue of $471 million, marking a 5% year-over-year rise and surpassing market forecasts. This performance reflects ongoing momentum across both its Create and Grow Solutions segments.
Breaking down the figures, Create Solutions brought in $152 million, up 3% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Grow Solutions generated $318 million, a 6% increase. Despite these gains, Unity posted a net loss of $127 million, representing a 27% margin.
Unity attributed the modest growth in Create Solutions to strong subscription revenue, which helped balance out reduced income from consumption services following a strategic portfolio reset. On the Grow side, the uptick was largely powered by the Unity Ad Network, though this was tempered by lower performance in other areas of the Grow business.
CEO Matthew Bromberg described the progress in the Create division as encouraging. He emphasized that after excluding nonstrategic revenue, the subscription software business actually grew by 13% year-over-year. According to Bromberg, this signals meaningful enhancements in product quality and customer relationships. He reiterated Unity’s long-standing mission to democratize game development, adding that advancements in artificial intelligence will further this goal.
A major highlight of the quarter was the performance of Unity 6, which has now reached more than 9.4 million registered downloads, a 42% jump from the prior quarter. Bromberg noted that customer-reported issues have dropped by 22% since the launch, indicating improved stability and user satisfaction. He also pointed to Unity Vector AI as a key contributor to the quarter’s stronger-than-expected revenue and adjusted EBITDA.
Looking forward, Unity anticipates revenue between $480 million and $490 million in the next quarter. The company projects mid-single-digit sequential growth for its Grow segment and high-single-digit annual growth for Create. Bromberg also signaled a deeper commitment to extended and augmented reality, citing industry forecasts that predict a 38% surge in AR and VR headset shipments by 2025.
In a separate development last month, Unity identified a significant security vulnerability affecting games built with its engine since 2017. However, the company’s director of community and advocacy, Larry Hryb, confirmed that there is no evidence the flaw was ever exploited, and no users or customers were impacted.
