Redbrick, a prominent South Korean software education firm, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Middlesex University Dubai Innovation Hub to jointly advance artificial intelligence education and research initiatives. The memorandum of understanding was formally signed on October 16 during the GITEX GLOBAL 2025 event in Dubai, marking a significant step in international educational cooperation.
Situated within Dubai’s Knowledge Park, the MDX Innovation Hub serves as a dynamic bridge between academia and industry. It connects students with enterprises to tackle practical challenges in fields like artificial intelligence, data science, and digital transformation.
This new alliance will focus on several key collaborative areas. Both organizations plan to work together on AI education and research projects, develop specialized AI internship opportunities, and organize joint workshops, expert lectures, and hackathon events. A central goal is building a robust global education ecosystem through active knowledge sharing and exchange.
A notable aspect of the partnership involves Redbrick providing MDX Dubai students with access to its proprietary AI content creation platform and advanced educational AI agent technology. This will allow students to gain hands-on experience by contributing to real-world industry projects.
The signing ceremony saw participation from senior leaders of both institutions. Representing MDX Dubai were Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University and Director of MDX Dubai; Professor Fehmida Hussain, Deputy Director and Head of the Innovation Hub; and Doctors Jeongsoo Han and Engie Bashir, who serve as Co-Chairs of MIH. Redbrick was represented by its CEO, Yeongmo Yang, and Co-founder Kwangyong Lee.
Yeongmo Yang, Redbrick’s CEO, emphasized the broader vision behind the collaboration. He indicated that the partnership with MDX Dubai is just the beginning, with plans to forge similar alliances with other global educational institutions. The objective is to create a sustainable model where AI technology delivers tangible, practical benefits to the education sector.
Having been selected for Abu Dhabi’s Hub71 accelerator program, Redbrick intends to use this agreement as a foundation for deeper cooperation with universities and institutions throughout the UAE. The overarching aim is to cultivate a strong pipeline of AI talent and reinforce industry-academia collaboration across the region.
