Apple is introducing a new subscription service for creative professionals, bundling its top-tier software into a single, accessible package. The Apple Creator Studio subscription launches on January 28, priced at $12.99 per month or $129.99 for an annual plan. This move represents a significant shift for Apple, which has traditionally sold its pro apps as one-time purchases, bringing it more in line with the subscription models of competitors like Adobe. The bundle provides comprehensive access to the Mac and iPad versions of Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage. Additionally, subscribers gain enhanced features and premium content for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions of Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform.

A one-month free trial will be available for new users. Furthermore, Apple is offering a substantially discounted rate for students, who can access the entire suite for just $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.

The launch coincides with several app updates. Final Cut Pro receives a new Transcript Search feature, enabling editors to locate specific dialogue within video clips quickly. Another addition, Montage Maker, automatically analyzes footage to compile a dynamic video highlight reel. Logic Pro is also updated to better support video scoring and introduces a new synth player to its roster of AI-powered session musicians.

Perhaps the most notable update is a completely redesigned version of Pixelmator Pro for iPad, built from the ground up for use with the Apple Pencil. This marks a major expansion for the application, which was exclusively a Mac program when Apple acquired its developer in late 2024.

While the core iWork apps, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, remain free, the Creator Studio subscription unlocks a suite of premium enhancements. These include exclusive templates, themes, and access to a Content Hub filled with curated, high-quality photos and illustrations. The subscription also activates several AI-powered generative features developed with OpenAI. These tools allow users to upscale or transform existing images, generate new images from text descriptions, and even have Keynote automatically create a full slide deck from a simple text outline.
