Benchmark invests in Chinese AI startup Manus, valuing it at $500M

Manus AI, a Chinese startup specializing in AI agent tools, has secured $75 million in funding. This round, led by Benchmark, values the company at approximately $500 million. Manus plans to leverage these funds to penetrate new markets, notably the U.S., Japan, and the Middle East.

This latest investment significantly boosts Manus’s valuation, which was previously over $10 million, supported by investors like Tencent and HSG. The company’s profile rose after releasing a demo of a versatile AI agent in March. Despite some initial performance issues during TechCrunch’s evaluation, Manus proceeded to introduce subscription plans ranging from $39 to $199 per month.
