Kia EVs Now Compatible with Tesla Superchargers

Kia’s electric vehicles are now compatible with Tesla Superchargers, granting access to over 21,500 charging stalls across North America. This integration enhances convenience for Kia EV owners, who can now utilize Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network. Initially, Kia EVs were slated to access these Superchargers in January, but the rollout was postponed to March and has now been successfully implemented.
In conjunction with this development, Kia unveiled the updated 2025 Kia EV6, which will feature a Tesla-style NACS port as standard. This port will also be included on the 2026 EV9 three-row SUV. Current owners of the EV6, EV9, and Niro EV models can use a CCS1-to-NACS adapter available at Kia dealerships to connect to Tesla Superchargers. Hyundai, Kia’s sister company, secured Supercharger access last December, providing free adapters to Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 owners.
Kia drivers can locate Tesla Superchargers and monitor their status directly via their vehicle’s infotainment system. Alternatively, they can initiate charging sessions and enroll in Kia’s Charge Pass program through the Kia Access app.
Previously, some Kia EV6 and EV9 owners managed to charge their vehicles at Tesla Superchargers by using a workaround involving the Tesla app and claiming to drive a Hyundai Ioniq 5, due to the shared EV platform between the two automakers. Now, Kia has officially joined the ranks of automakers with Tesla Supercharger access, including Ford, GM, Rivian, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Polestar, and soon, Honda.
