Threads Web App Shifts from .net to .com Domain

Threads on the web now has a new address. Users can access the Meta-owned network by navigating to Threads.com instead of the previous Threads.net.
This update is likely to simplify finding the website, as an unrelated messaging startup, Threads.com, saw a significant increase in traffic following the platform’s launch. Meta acquired the Threads.com domain last September but has only now started redirecting users to it.
In addition to this domain change, Meta has introduced several updates to the site. Users will now see their custom feeds displayed in the same order as on the mobile app. Liked and saved posts can be accessed from the main menu icon, eliminating the need to pin a column on the homepage.
Furthermore, Threads is testing a new feature allowing users to upload a list of people they follow on other apps, starting with X, to easily find their profiles on Threads. Users can also copy Threads posts as images and paste them onto other platforms like Instagram. The web app now includes a new icon on the right side of the screen for adding columns and a “+” button in the bottom-right corner for creating posts.
These updates are part of a series of significant changes this week, with the platform also expanding ads across 30 countries, including the US. Last month, Threads introduced the ability for users to set their following or custom feeds as their default.
