Evernote Founder Rebrands mmhmm to Airtime, Unveils New Products

Phil Libin, renowned for founding Evernote, is set to transform your video meeting experience. His latest venture, initially launched as mmhmm in 2020, has now rebranded to Airtime and introduced a comprehensive video toolkit aimed at enhancing online meetings.

This new suite, named Airtime, features two key tools: a virtual camera designed to give you a more polished appearance during video calls, and a presentation tool that facilitates seamless on-screen collaboration with colleagues while presenting slides.

These innovations are crafted to make virtual meetings more engaging and professional. In an era where participants often join meetings in casual attire, with unappealing backgrounds, or opt to keep their cameras off, Airtime aims to encourage active participation and leave a lasting impression.

The Airtime Creator tool empowers users to present slides more dynamically, allowing up to ten participants to appear on screen simultaneously. This marks a significant upgrade from merely displaying slides, transforming presentations into interactive experiences.

In addition to Airtime Creator, the Airtime Camera tool offers customizable features to enhance your presence in online meetings across platforms like Zoom, Teams, Meet, and Webex. Users can personalize their backgrounds, add logos, and use visual reactions or GIFs to stand out, thereby reinforcing their brand and capturing more attention.

Alongside these new products, mmhmm has officially rebranded itself as Airtime. Users with the mmhmm desktop app will notice the app’s name and icon change to Airtime upon their next launch, along with access to both Airtime Creator and Airtime Camera. The virtual camera tool within meeting software settings will also reflect this update.

Supported by prominent investors such as Sequoia Capital and SoftBank Vision Fund, the company has secured $100 million in funding. As an introductory offer, Airtime Camera will be free to use until August 1, after which it will require a one-time payment of $20. Meanwhile, Airtime Creator is available for a $10 monthly subscription, with a free trial period offered.

This rebranding and product launch signal a significant step forward in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of virtual communication.
