Ryzen AI Boosts Framework Laptop 13 to Unprecedented Speeds

The Framework Laptop 13 has firmly established itself as a reliable and upgradeable device. Over the years, we’ve seen this laptop evolve from a promising concept to a dependable, predictable machine. Initially launched with an 11th-generation Intel Core processor, the latest iterations now offer substantial improvements in both CPU and GPU performance.
Today, we examine the Ryzen AI 300 variant of the Framework Laptop, which is available for preorder with shipping expected in the second quarter of this year. The pre-built version starts at $1,099, while the DIY kit, excluding RAM, SSD, and Windows OS, begins at $899. Our testing focused on the high-end Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 model, priced at $1,659 before adding memory, storage, or an operating system.
This new model serves as a direct upgrade from the mid-2023 Ryzen 7040-series board, providing similar performance enhancements. Notably, it is the first Framework Laptop to comply with Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC initiative requirements, enabling additional locally processed AI features, such as Recall, with more features expected in the future.
