In a strategic expansion, the UK-based job search platform Adzuna has purchased the employment divisions of two major classifieds aggregators, Trovit and Mitula, from the digital group Lifull Connect. This acquisition significantly strengthens Adzuna’s market position in key regions, including Spain, Italy, and Latin America, while marking another step in Lifull Connect’s strategic withdrawal from non-core assets to concentrate on its real estate vertical.
This transaction represents Adzuna’s third major purchase in four years, following its acquisitions of the US enterprise platform Getwork in 2022 and the social recruitment service Seiza in late 2024. The deal is specifically for the job search divisions of both Trovit and Mitula, which are multi-vertical platforms also operating in real estate and automotive sectors across more than 50 countries. Those other verticals remain under the control of Lifull Connect. Adzuna reports that the integration is complete, with the Trovit Jobs and Mitula Jobs sites now redirecting to Adzuna and user accounts, including saved searches and alerts, fully migrated.
Trovit was founded in Barcelona in 2006 and purchased by the Japanese firm Lifull for €80 million in 2014. Mitula, also founded in Spain, was publicly listed in Australia before Lifull acquired it for €118 million in 2018. The two businesses were later merged under the Lifull Connect umbrella in 2019. For Lifull Connect, this divestiture aligns with a broader strategic pivot that began over a year ago, culminating in its spin-off from its Japanese parent in January 2025 to focus operational control on its core property business, notably the Thailand-based brokerage FazWaz.
This shift followed a period of declining revenue in Lifull Connect’s aggregation segment. By selling the jobs divisions to Adzuna, the company is consolidating its resources around its real estate portals, which now represent its primary commercial activity. Carlos Ruiz Comes, Vertical Search General Manager at Lifull Connect, stated the deal involved finding the right partner in the jobs sector as the group intensifies its real estate focus.
For Adzuna, the acquisition provides a substantial boost in user traffic and valuable data, particularly in Southern European markets where Trovit and Mitula have established, long-term presence. Co-founder and CEO Doug Monro described the move as a platform to deploy Adzuna’s AI search technology to millions of new users across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Founded in 2011 by Monro and Andrew Hunter, Adzuna is backed by firms including Index Ventures and has been enhancing its suite of AI tools, such as the automated application agent ApplyIQ launched in 2025. The financial terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed.
