Citrix Unveils Quantum-Ready Tools for Remote Work

▼ Summary

– Citrix has launched two new solutions to enhance secure application access for enterprises: a post-quantum cryptography (PQC) solution for NetScaler and the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) 2507 Long Term Service Release (LTSR).
– The PQC solution addresses quantum computing threats by offering hybrid encryption (X25519 + ML-KEM768) in NetScaler version 14.1.51, ensuring quantum resistance while maintaining compatibility with current browsers.
– CVAD 2507 LTSR introduces over 400 new features, including expanded OS support, improved performance, and deeper insights into HDX sessions, network conditions, and endpoint metrics.
– The release also focuses on cost optimization with tools like cost modeling, workload rightsizing, and idle app reporting to help IT leaders reduce expenses across on-prem and cloud resources.
– Citrix emphasizes its commitment to securing workforce access and adapting to evolving threats, as highlighted by Sridhar Mullapudi, co-president and General Manager at Citrix.

Citrix strengthens enterprise security with quantum-resistant encryption and enhanced virtual workspace tools, addressing the growing need for robust protection against emerging cyber threats. The company’s latest innovations focus on safeguarding sensitive data while improving remote work capabilities through advanced virtualization technology.

The newly introduced post-quantum cryptography (PQC) solution for NetScaler tackles a critical challenge posed by quantum computing. Traditional encryption methods, such as RSA and ECDHE, could become obsolete once quantum computers reach maturity, leaving previously intercepted data vulnerable. Cybercriminals are already exploiting this by harvesting encrypted information today for future decryption, a tactic known as “harvest now, decrypt later” (HNDL). Citrix’s hybrid PQC encryption, integrated into NetScaler version 14.1.51, combines X25519 with ML-KEM768, aligning with NIST standards to provide quantum-resistant security without disrupting existing browser compatibility.

Sridhar Mullapudi, co-president and General Manager at Citrix, emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to secure access solutions. “For over 30 years, we’ve transformed attack surfaces into secure environments,” he said. “Today’s announcement reinforces our role as a trusted partner for modern enterprises navigating evolving security and regulatory challenges.”

Alongside its quantum-ready encryption, Citrix unveiled the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) 2507 Long Term Service Release (LTSR), packed with over 400 enhancements. This update introduces a more predictable release cycle, one LTSR annually, three CVAD updates per year, and three years of maintenance per LTSR, giving businesses greater stability and control.

Key improvements in CVAD 2507 include expanded OS support and performance upgrades, ensuring seamless operation across diverse environments, including cloud and virtualization platforms.

By combining quantum-resistant security with powerful virtualization tools, Citrix is equipping enterprises to stay ahead of both current and future threats, ensuring secure, flexible, and cost-effective remote work solutions. The company’s dual approach, protecting data from quantum decryption while refining virtual workspace performance, positions it as a leader in next-generation enterprise security and productivity.
