– The game and existing DLC will remain available for purchase on PlayStation, but no new content will be released after June 18, 2025.
– Beat Saber remains popular, ranking among the top-selling PS VR 2 games in the US, Canada, and EU in May 2025.
– Support for Beat Saber will continue on Steam and Meta Quest headsets, with the developer promising future updates for these platforms.

Beat Saber, the wildly popular VR rhythm game, will stop receiving updates for PlayStation consoles starting this month. Multiplayer functionality will also be discontinued for both PS4 and PS5 versions, marking a significant shift in the game’s development focus.

The announcement came directly from Beat Games, the studio behind the title, which has operated under Meta’s ownership since 2019. In a recent social media post, the team explained their decision: “As we prepare for the next evolution of Beat Saber, we’ve chosen to halt updates for PlayStation platforms beginning June 2025.”

Despite this change, the game and all previously released DLC packs will remain available for purchase on PlayStation stores. However, any new content launched after June 18, 2025, won’t make its way to PS4 or PS5. Recent DLC additions have featured hit tracks from major artists like Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, expanding the game’s already extensive music library.

Beat Saber has been a consistent top performer on PS VR 2, ranking as the third best-selling game in the US and Canada during May 2025, and securing the sixth spot in European markets. Its departure from PlayStation updates doesn’t diminish its legacy as a VR staple, but signals a strategic pivot toward other platforms.

The developer emphasized their ongoing commitment to VR innovation, teasing future updates for Steam and Meta Quest users. While PlayStation players won’t see new features, the existing experience remains intact, just without further expansions. Fans eager for what’s next will have to stay tuned as Beat Games promises more exciting developments in the pipeline.
