Xbox is rolling out a new wave of features for its Insider program, directly shaped by community feedback. These updates focus on deeper personalization and greater user control, offering a preview of enhancements that will eventually reach all console players. The latest test builds introduce expanded Home groups, a full custom color picker, refined Quick Resume settings, and more prominent profile badges.
A major point of feedback has been the desire for further Home screen customization. In response, the limit on custom groups has been significantly increased. Players can now create up to ten distinct groups, a substantial jump from the previous limit of two. Managing these groups has also been streamlined with a more intuitive interface for reordering, mirroring the familiar process used for arranging game tiles. It is now simpler to pin groups directly from My Games & Apps and to see which groups are already active on the Home layout.
Personalization extends to the console’s visual theme with the introduction of a custom color selector. Moving beyond the preset system palette, users can now create a unique accent color by adjusting sliders for hue and shade. This chosen color will appear as a subtle highlight within the Guide, though this effect can be disabled in the Personalization settings. To ensure visual consistency, the feature includes some system guardrails. Your last custom color is saved if you switch back to a default option, making it easy to return to your preferred theme. This feature will be visible to other Insiders initially before a full release planned for the April update.
The popular Quick Resume feature is receiving new granular controls. While celebrated for its convenience, the team acknowledges that some game sessions benefit from a fresh launch after extended periods. Players can now disable Quick Resume on a per-game basis. This setting ensures selected titles always start from a clean state, which can resolve issues with certain online or live-service games. The option is accessible either through the More options menu on a game tile within the Quick Resume group or via the standard Manage game and add-ons menu.
Finally, profile badges are becoming more visible. These badges commemorate player milestones and achievements. Now, when viewing any profile directly from the Guide, the five most recently unlocked badges will be displayed upfront. This change makes it easier to spot and celebrate recent accomplishments while browsing.
Xbox extends its gratitude to the Insider community, whose input is vital to these developments. Insiders seeking support or wishing to share feedback are encouraged to engage with the official Xbox Insider subreddit, where staff and community members can assist. Consolidating feedback on existing threads, rather than creating new ones, helps the team provide the most effective support.
